  1. being a real estate agent does mean just buying and selling of homes if you are in new jersey get into the renting side of it the commision is obviously not the same but you get a small percentage out of alot.

this is where the market is shifting

  2. Mamadamus comes from a long line of Realtors, builders and mortgage reps. Mamadamus says run for your life to the next career fair. Mamadamus says Realty agencies are always hiring because they don't have to pay you out of pocket. Mamadamus hopes you like mac and cheese and ramen noodles.

Mamadamus says get out of New Jersey. Mamadamus says you will be happier on the west coast.

  3. A broker makes the most money - but they also take the most risk - they own the agency - all the other agents are just that - agents of the broker.

There will always be money to be made via buying and selling - it's just a very cyclical market.  You can have long dry spells.

Those who make money in real estate are the buyers and sellers - buy low sell high - rent it out until the market rebounds.  As Will Rogers once said - land is always a good investment - they ain't making anymore.

  4. gah you picked a great time to hop into the realty business. i dunno if its as bad in NJ as it is in FL but sheesh. if you're charismatic you should be a real estate agent-ppl need a peppy and honest soul these days to guide them to a new home. mortgages at your own risk :D
