Is being a busser/hostess/togo person at ruby tuesdays ok for money?

Question

I'm thinking abuot switching from working at a bank to working there because I think it'll be a lot more fun. But I'm worried about hte money. At the bank I make 9.25 and at Ruby Tuesdays I'd be making 5.00 or so plus tips? Any suggestions?

I'm not sure about Ruby Tuesday's specifically, but as a hostess at a different restaraunt I made 5 plus tip out, and it usually averaged at about 7.50/ hr. Which at 25-30 hrs a week made me about 350 every two weeks.

...just to give you some perspecitve.

But yeah, working at a restaurant is a lot of fun. There are soo many people working in those places, so you get to meet a lot of people and make some great friends =)

If you get evening shifts on the weekends consistently you should be able to make some decent money. During the weekdays there's not much to tip out because most people stick to the salad bar and there's not as much traffic. Any reason why you don't want to be a server? It's a little more work but you will make more money. The bank is likely to be more stable employment though and it stands for better customer service experience on you resume if you are about to enter the workforce after school. (I am assuming you are a student?)

Yeah. it makes good money. i had a job there and i got atleast 20 bucks in tips every day. it is really fun socializing with the guest and you see alot of hot guys and girls. im not g*y. you wuld really enjoy your self.  I hope you make a good desicon that will help you.

If I were you I'd stay at the bank..Maybe ruby tuesday as a second job? I know what you mean when You say the bank is boring, I could only imagine but Im sure you have benefits and a more SECURE job there. At ruby tuesday you'd be busting your *** just for a dollar...

go have a lil fun try something new being a waitress is fun but it has its days i used to be a waitress and go home with over 200.00 a night plus its real fun if ur a ppl person

if you need the money then stay with the bank- you will know for sure how much money is coming in

otherwise you may stress yourself out

Stay at the bank...it looks better on your resume.  No one cares about how fast you get orders out to people.  Ruby Tuesday=dead end.  Bad career move.

Well there arent any bussers at Ruby Tuesday! Hosts get paid minimum wage and there is no tip out for this position.As for the Tuego person you make atleast minimum wage or more depending on the amount of to go sales that unit does plus you make tips.Ruby Tuesday is a great place to work for.I have been with them for 8 years now and I love it.It is fun and if you like working with the public than this is def a good decision. You will really like it.

I would do the one that I would enjoy the most.  Their probably wont be a big money difference. Good Luck On Your Decision
