I will already be in school on the day I have to report. I have classes every day, Monday through Friday. I wrote all of this down in the "other" section of the reasons for excuse.

  1. Sorry I live in CA, and no it's not an excuse.  It's the whole duty part of it.......

  2. The school has to let you off for jury duty.  Take the notice for jury duty to your teacher and if they have a problem with it report it to the Dean and the court.

Civic duty is an import part of your education and being a citizen, take it seriously.

  3. No, but it does allow you to get a deferment to a break in school.  Have a nice Christmas holiday.  Let them know and you will get deferred.

  4. Probably not.

  5. No, being a citizen with rights means you have responsibilities. The school will have to make accommodations.

  6. The list keeps growing

    Mothers want out

    students want out

    grandparents

"i broke my toe"'ers want out

When will you people realize your duty to at least show up at the courthouse?

  7. You are the future leader that I sincerely hope never becomes anything other than a clerk in some store.  Very civic minded you are.  Ready to do your duty as an American.  By the way, lad, who gave you all those opportunities in life that have led you to college?  Was it Hugo, or Fidel, some other non-American naysayer?  Please, do not become successful.  Leave that to young Americans who are willing to do their civic duty.

  8. no

  9. Those kinds of commitments are listed as one of the unacceptable reasons for missing jury duty on the jury form in Massachusetts. Most trials are only for one day so they feel your life will not be bent out of shape by missing just a day.
