I have my 4 year old daughter every Wednesday from 3-7pm and starting in September, I'll have her every Wednesday from 3-7pm AND from Friday Until 5pm On Sunday. I also have a 1 1/2 year old son from my current marriage that, obviously, lives with us. My husband works Mon-Friday from 6am until anywhere between 6:15 & 8pm so he is gone a majority of the day while I'm home with our son. Somehow, I want to start going to school to be a hair stylist, which I'm guess will be a few days a week, and fit a part-time job in there somewhere also. I'm very interested in working at a MAC cosmetics counter and I heard they pay pretty well so hopefully I can pay for child care for my son and bring home some extra cash, however, I'm not sure if they would even hire me to work just Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & (POSSIBLY) Friday. What do you all think of my situation and any advice on how I can schedule/organize all this? I love being a stay at home mom and stuff but I'd also like some sort of independence as well.

Thanks! =)

  1. It's all about determination. I am also a mom, wife, student, and employee. I have four children ages 6, 4, 4, and 2. My husband works full-time for the national guard and is gone frequently on assignments and trainings. I am also in nursing school and working part-time at a local nursing home. It definitely won't be easy and will take commitment on your part. You may also experience some guilt for being away from your children so much (that is the hardest part for me), but what gets me through is knowing I am doing what I am doing to better their lives and so in the end we will have more time and resoursces to the fun things in life together. I wish you the best.
