  1. Those who are optimistic are going to say optimistic and likewise for pessimism. I am an optimistic at heart. My view is if you are always focused on the negative you will not see the positive that comes along. The thing is even with an individual who is pessimistic, when something positive does happen they tend to focus more on the negative (or what could be the negative) of it rather than view the positive. In my life, as an optimistic, yes I can be disappointed, but even then when something does not go right at least I am still able to see the optimistic side of it.

My husband is a pessimistic. I still love him, but he tends to see the negative and I the positive. So when we are discussing something, it can be pretty hilarious. He will speak the pessimistic side; I will understand his rationalizations and then state the optimistic point of view. In the end we agree to disagree and just try to understand both points.

  2. Either can be good at times. lol

  3. I would say an optimist without doubt. If you are positive you attract positive things to yourself, being a optimist has helped me achieve much more in life than a pessimistic view would have.Disappointments are so much easier to handle when you are optimistic as you will always see the good side and move on faster.

  4. be an optimistic pessimist  or a pessimistic optimist

then your never sure what you want...lol

positive out look on life is always better, your always looking up <toward Jesus I pray> it drive you to say it's going to get better,

pessimist say god what else is going to happen to me < defeetist>

  5. I want to agree a bit with answer 1, but NEVER is a very long time. I think even a pessimist can be disappointed, perhaps especially when proven wrong. To be a skeptic at least allows some flexibility.

To be an opitimist always, sounds very nice, even ideal, but they get stepped on, or might have their faith shaken by things that don't always come up smelling like Roses.

I more enjoy the thought of being cautiously optimistic, and through experience, hopefully one gains knowledge, which then hopefully translates to wisdom.

I hear often, the glass half full/half empty analogy, but what does it mean? The glass, assuming "half" is an exact, shows a balance.

    A.F.

  6. I believe that being an optimist is much better for my life.  Once I started thinking to myself "why wouldn't it work, why wouldn't I be good at that, etc.  I started to take chances and to believe in myself.

  7. Some say pessimism is better because when things go wrong or break your not as dissapointed.

Some say optimism is better because no matter what befalls you, you end up seeing the upside of the event.

I've decided I am basically an optimist... who allows pessimistic clouds  to cause the rain that creates the rainbow in in optimism

  8. some people have always mistaken pessimism as the act of "being sad" while optimism is "always smiley" face. but that's just not about it. it's about moving, or getting stuck. like, when it comes to getting rid of problems,

pessimism is easy as it's about running away from problems - but how long can you run? the more you run, the heavier the things are behind you. running away will even make you more tired, at the same time making you weaker and more stupid, leaving lesser energy inside you to perform a real successful life while there are more things you have to deal with to be stronger.

    .

optimism is pretty challenging as it's about to face the prob and get over it- and once you're over it, you're growing stronger and feels lighter while the problem itself is solved. the best part about this is that you already know the problem very well since you're also over it. it makes things easier for you to solve the same kind of probs, or heavier in future.

pessimism holds you back, optimism builds you. pessimism focuses on things where you can do nothing about it, eg: the past, while optimism trains you to look forward in the right way. pessimism trains you be totally dependent on situation, optimism teaches strength built on yourself. pessimism says successful performance is on a good drama and stage props (things around) while optimism says it's actually on the actor's performance (own self).

so being optimist has always been the best option for my life, although that always seems to be the harder choice.

  9. Well it depends on the situation. Pessimists may not be dissapointed, but won't dream. An optimist would always have a great outlook, but are prown 2 get hurt. Which isn't bad because whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Also if you're sick with cancer or any other fatal disease, the optimist would have a better chance of surviving it. Thinking to yourself-well i'm not getting through this, i'm gonna die, could actually make it happen. So in my opinion, optimism is better.

  10. Pessimist definitely. You are never disappointed and frequently pleasantly surprised.

  11. I think both have good and bad effects.  Aside from the obvious ones, a major downside to pessimism is it can cause major health issues-nervous disorders, depression, weight fluctuation, gastrointestinal disorders, etc.  Not to mention that negitivity colors all of a pessimists life.  I try to stick to being a realist-I know it's considered a pessimist, but I don't see it that way.  I try to prepare for any eventuality and while hoping things turn out well, still plan for disaster.

The half full/hall empty question:  it depends on 2 factors-did you fill the glass half-way or did you fill it all the way to the rim and drink til it was half empty?

  12. Well at least when I am an pessimist I don't feel disappointed in life.

  13. Be a pessimist, you're either right or happily surprised.

  14. optimists are more friendly but pessimists can be more successful in life.

i suggest one think like an optimist but act like a pessimist

enjoy life but be prudent to avoid problems.

    enjoy

  15. The optimist always hopes for the best, but only sees it now and then.

The pessimist always prepares for the worst, often gets what he/she plans for, but always misses out on the good when it does come.

The realist would be considered a pessimist.

A dreamer would be considered an optimist.

It would be best to be a hopeful realist.

As the old saying goes: "Hope for the best prepare for the worst."

Like most things in life, it is best to have a balance.

Be a hybrid. Be an in between.

  16. Thinking positive can manifest things great beyond your wildest dreams. Thats all there is to life is thinking positive.

  17. I dunno, I'm pretty pessimistic sometimes. It depends on my mood. Optimistic probably because you will have a fuller life.

  18. Being a pessimist, you'll never be disappointed, but you'll never see the good in things.

Being an optimist you'll get to enjoy what's good in life, but you'll be disappointed more of the time, too.

  19. optimist... Being optimistic can let you achieve things which you never thought you were capable...

Optimism is the how millionaires and billionaires conduct their life...

Without optimism you wont have a future

  20. optimism is healthier for your mind, and body
