  1. you like the look of SCENE. they are commonly mistaken.

and you would haftah buy hair dyes, straighteners, belts, skinny jeans, and all that. so its pretty expensive.

  2. Your Answer:

K well let me see what I can tell you...

You don't have to spend $50 on skinny jeans!! Wow, who ever is spending that much is sure getting ripped off. I just bought a pair of black jeans, but made sure that they were about one size under what I was. They looked fine. BUT, if you still want to get skinny jeans, save up for a pair or two and go to kohls. Usually they are having sales on them.

If you don't already have one, try to get an emo haircut. They usually cover one or both eyes. Just search emo hair on photobucket or somewhere like that.

    Some emo clothes are:

Band Tees. Or some crazy looking shirts that you found at the thrift store. Those are always awesome.

Converse, or vans. Preferabbly hi- tops. They are kind of expensive, but they last a long time.

Belts, belts, belts. You can find them everywhere. Go to www.amazon.com and search "studded belts" or "graphic belts" somthing like that. They are really inexpenisive if you search around. I buy them off of amazon all the time.

Umm, you could consider getting a peircing but it isn't that essential.

You could die your hair different colors or just add a streak of color to your hair.

Get some band pins or movie pins like Juno of of ebay and pin them onto your backpack.

Paint your nails balck if you like. Or you could paint them black and different colors like neon green or purple.

Buy little peices at a time so you don't spend a lot...

HOW TO AVOID BEING CALLED A POSER:

Don't try turning emo over night. Because then people might think that you are just trying to fit in with other emos and stuff like that. Just start by wearing a few band tees, then after a while, start wearing belts and so on....

Everyone thinks that Emos are just suicidal and cut themselves all the time. Its not like just because you are emo you have to cut yourself!!

    K, hope I helped!! :D

  3. The emo and scene style is pretty much dead sugar.

  4. Dressing "emo" if you will, is not at all expensive. All you really need to invest in is a good pair of black or dark skinny jeans, some band shirts from hot topic and a pair of all black vans. The whole goal of this style is to look like your in a band...so there is no real reason to need tons of clothes. Just wear the same jeans a lot and switch out shirts that you wear. Oh and also always be on the look out for accessories such as black bracelets and if you are interested you can always gauge your ears (stretch them) and put in plugs.

  5. Well today was my first day of school and people are talking because I started dressing emo. I really dont think there is away to avoid being called a poser. Honestly, I dont care what people say about me because its no ones buisness. Anyways, the emo style is exspesive. Im not sure what to do about that because I just spent a lot of money last week at the mall to get my clothes.

  6. Umm.......... Emo is not a look.. It's depression and sadness x.x

  7. Emo = poser by default. You lose.

  8. I'm in the same situation as you, haha. I think that "emo" is showing your style while being expressive- so you don't neccesarily need money to accomplish those things. Try making accessories out of things around you or things that aren't too expensive (ex: paper clips? I don't know)

But in any case, try to buy things that are on clearance / sale. That way you can make your money go a long way.

  9. If you want to go down that road, I suggest you stay away from Hot Topic or any other stores in the mall that advertise that look because they are very expensive.  Since you don't have a lot of spending money, shop at thrift stores in the area.  Usually people who go for this look and have that authentic and original look shop at second-hand stores because there's more interesting stuff and it's dirt cheap.

  10. "Real emos" buy their clothes from thrift stores. So no, not expensive.

  11. Yeah...it is kind of expensive. $50 skinny fit jeans and tight shirts, lots of hair products to keep the look, maybe some makeup if you're into that.

OK, if you want tight fitting jeans that aren't brand name, you can always go to the Wal-Mart womens' section. Just make sure their not bell bottoms or have hearts or something.

Try going to a thrift shop and buy shirts a little bit below your size. Actually, wearing these clothes can look just as nice and emo as going to a mall and buying clothes there. Find some gloves as scarves too.

If you don't want any Converse or Vans shoes, you could probably find a no-name look alike at Payless Shoes.

You could probably go get a $10 haircut instead of a salon. Just bring a picture. Then buy some cheap hairspray and maybe black hair dye.

Good luck. Though it wouldn't hurt to buy one expensive piece of clothing.

  12. uh, wow a terrible style but, just go to hot topic, and grow ur hair out theres not much too it its mostly in the attitude that makes people emo

  13. Following a stereotype is going to be expensive, no matter what the stereotype. You have to buy flat irons, clothes, accessories, makeup, ect, ect. Don't accuse me of being stereotypical. If you're going to label yourself, be prepared to deal with the stereotypes that come with it.

  14. saying ur emo doesnt make u emo

  15. being emo is wearing black most of the time. I think you should be punk to start. Basic skinny jeans $20-$35, converse $35, and a nice tee $10 at wetseal.
