  1. Ever watch puppies or cats or any young animal interact?  They all fight over food, toys, and anything else of value.  We are the same way.  We naturally compete for resources.  It's a biological trigger that ensures some will survive in desperate times.

  2. The answer is BOTH.

  3. I think it's nature though it can be nurtured.I was a naturally competitive athlete at school and no one pushed or encouraged me to be like that.

  4. I strongly suspect it's something we're born with (or not).

If a person isn't competitive, they probably can't become so.

But then, it's not a very desirable trait; tends to make people more unhappy than not.

Doing things well doesn't require being competitive. It just requires knowing your strengths, and wanting to do things well.

  5. If it's nuture then you have been taught by someone to be competitive.

  6. i think its more of nurture.

  7. Actually it's more of nurture because being competitive usually begins when a person or experience motivates you and equips you with the right knowledge and training so that you can be able to strut your stuff for that particular field. So it definitely depends on the opportunity and kind of nurture you receive.

  8. I think that its definitely a bit of both

  9. I think we do not learn to be competitive if we don't have it in ourselves. nurture boosts the nature in discovering and enhancing the skills we have, so I say both.

  10. Nature

  11. I think it is nuture!
