  1. People who are culturally isolated tend to believe that other people are similar to them.

When you look at the tremendous ignorance shown by even the most elite conservatives (George W. Bush didn't even know there were two factions of Muslims in the country he was going to invade and remake to his liking), you see an acute level of this isolation.

This is why urban dwellers are more moderate-to-liberal.  They have real-world experience with people who are not like themselves.

  2. lol what?

  3. I realize all those things.  I just feel that the democrats approach to mainly the medical, law and graduate schools isn't the proper way of doing things.  I'm all for helping out the people that truly need it.  I just feel that you can't help some people that don't want to help themselves.  And believe me...we don't keep a close eye on who abuses welfare programs.  Welfare states end up collapsing and this is what worries me.

  4. Conservative Beliefs:

    1.  Government should be small, and provide only basic necessities; keeping taxes low.

    2.  People should be responsible for their own lives without help from the government.

    3.  Tax rates should be the same for everyone.  Why should you punish success with higher taxes when the lower income citizens receive more benefits from the government.

    4.  People should be allowed to believe as they wish, but not try and force their beliefs on others as many liberals do.

    5.  American citizens are all equal and entitled to the same rights, not more or less, i.e. affirmative action.

Basically, conservatives believe that people are better at making decisions about all areas of their lives, i.e. finances, child raising, education choices, than the government and will be more efficient at it than the government.  Therefore the government should quit trying to help, and let people take care of themselves by giving them more of their tax money back.

  5. That not every male makes a perfect soldier?

What conservative ever said that? And who was it that wanted g**s in the military and to lower the standards for recruitment?

That not everyone thinks that world is 6,000 years old?

And that some people don't believe that our early ancestors were apes and monkeys.

That not everyone had parents who could put them through medical, law, or graduate business and engineering schools?

    Including mine.

That not everyone thinks it's ok to march into any country our government happens to feel like?

Except if they happen to be Russia.

That not everyone wants 3 or 4 kids?

I never knew there was a requirement for how many kids a couple must have, but if you're implying being against abortion, we just don't think it's right to murder a baby for mere convenience. unlike liberals, we believe in moral absolutes and that there are things that are just wrong.

That not everyone is sexually attracted to the opposite s*x?

We are aware of that. We just don't like that fact being shoved in our faces, paraded on our streets, and taught to our children.

That not everyone wants to live just like you?

    Speak for yourself.

Most Americans at the time didn't want desegregation or forced bussing.

There are people that don't want their children or grandchildren exposed to the s**t and garbage our entertainment industry pushes out.

There are people who believe in God and the Bible and don't like their freedom of religious expression being suppressed and their symbols being banned from the public or desecrated in art museums.

The majority of Americans don't want America to become a socialist nation.

Most Americans are fed up with the verbal enslavement called 'political correctness".

    liberals say "tough"

Most hard working Americans are outraged that their hard earned money is being confiscated through taxes to support these failed special interest programs and their money ends up in crack dealer's pockets or liquor store cash registers.

  6. No, very few conservatives (I am one) believe this nonsense.  The problem with our elections process is this: if you can get out 5% more voters, to vote against the other guy, you stand a better chance of winning.  Hence, the nut case factor.

True conservatives believe (short version): no deficit spending, no debt, and that people, left to make their own decisions, will do what is in their own best interests.  Unfortunately, few will get out of bed to vote for that.  But, 5% will vote the wedge issues.

When we start to vote for common sense folks, the nut cases will go away.

  7. You have a very deep misconception of what a conservative is.

I don't see how your comments fit in with this ideology.

We believe that people must be free to determine the course of their own lives, to succeed by virtue of their own talents and efforts, and to worship (or not) as their conscience directs. We believe that this liberty necessarily carries with it a duty to take personal responsibility for one’s actions. We believe that the role of government should be to protect the unalienable rights of its citizens and to facilitate the power of individual choice. We believe that free enterprise, incentives, market competition, and entrepreneurship are far more effective at meeting society’s needs than government regulation, government bureaucracy, and government lawyers. Fundamentally, we believe in the ability and duty of citizens to practice personal self-government, in order to protect the benefits of a free, self-governing society.

  8. No its a function of common sense and the realization that Government and more taxes will not create a perfect society.

  9. 1) No one ever implied that?

    2) Well, duh.  But see, there are these things called SCHOLARSHIPS and a JOB.  I got through Penn State by that.

    3) I don't believe it, and the others understand it.

    4) We don't march in, we're heartless freaks.  We march in, we think we own the world.  We had a good reason. *cough9/11*cough*

    5) Your point being...?

    6) I realize that, yet I don't support nor oppose g*y rights.  Like the true Federalist I am, I believe it should be up to the States to decide that.  If Utah doesn't want g*y marriage, let it be.  If California does, let it be.

    7) THAT'S NOT TRUE.  YOU KNOW IT ISN'T.

Oh, by the way.  I was being sarcastic at the last number, in case your narrow little mind couldn't squeeze that in.
