I absolutely hate school, but the thing is I'm a senior in high school. I have liked school all my life, but ever since I moved to georgia I've been hating it. Now I just want to be home schooled. The problem is that I haven't been going to school for the past 10 days and my assistant principal is thinking about withdrawling me. I need some advice on what to do..thanks

  1. with-drawling you and then what? i think it's a bad idea for you to be home schooled. you should be around your peers. like your new school, what are you going to do if you hate your job later in your adulthood? are you going to be able to afford not showing up for ten days and then be fired? i think the only reason you should be home schooled is if you are ill or if your safety is being threatened there. i think you need to deal with it and make the best of it. it's part of life.

  2. I've been homeschooled and gone to regular schools.  In order for homeschool to work, you have to have a dedicated parent, and you have to be driven personally.  It is not easy.  It's not an escape from things you don't like.  That's something that you have to deal with as an adult.  Realize it's only one more year and then you'll be off to college or work or whatever.  Skipping is only hurting you now, even if you dislike it.  It hurts your chances for your future jobs, colleges, etc.  Sometimes you have a hard year.  You have to put your head down and barrel through and eventually you'll come out on the other side.

  3. well it depends on how motivated and determined you are. please do not withdraw out of school just because you merely hate it. that's not a legitimate excuse. I am home schooled and sometimes which I could be at regular school because I am taking online classes and there is no deadline for aynthign so i get lazy.

  4. Why do you hate it?  You are almost done with school.  You should probably finish and you will have no regrets later.  Do you have friends in the area?  If not try to do after school activities or join a club or gym.  This way you get a chance to meet people with the same interests as you. Do your parents support you? If not then maybe get support from a school counselor.  There are lots of people to help you get through this. Seek some support!

  5. Nope.  Homeschool is not for you, not at this time, in this situation.

Diagnosis:  Senioritis (we all had a terrible case, it is normal and highly contagious---may have a hereditary component)

    Prescription:

    l.  Take one tablet of self discipline each morning around 6 a.m.  Wash face, eat breakfast , brush teeth  and go to school (take your homework with you)

    2.  GO TO SCHOOL. and pay attention, do the work and learn.

    3.  Come home and do homework.  Look at yourself in mirror and say, "I will not whine, I will not whine."

    4.  Repeat daily until graduation is completed.

    Prognosis:   Great life!!!!!!

Warning:  You may relapse and suffer from the same condition about 5 months before graduating from college.  Treatment is the same!

  6. home schooling for the first 8 years. unless the high school is top notch . you send them to a private or religous school.

i have friend who has been home schooled for her 7 yr old for the last two years. he reads as 7th grader, speaking french,

plays  piano, plays soccer, krate  and into airplanes.

what he learns he learns  3hrs regular takes 8 hrs.

run that every week it adds up.

  7. go back to school, graduate with your friends have fun high school is the best and your welcome

  8. I wouldn't do it as a senior.

You can augment it by homeschooling as WELL

But you have ONE year left.  See it through and get a HS diploma.

  9. I fully support homeschooling, but not in this case. Go to school. It's almost done and you'll get a fully recognized high school diploma. To switch right now means gathering a whole ton of information on how homeschooling works in Georgia, how to get a diploma, finding resources and more. A lot of things to ask from your parents when you only have 7 months left before graduating. You've got to focus on a goal, on a desire to graduate or something instead of whatever you are focusing on right now that is making you miserable. I grew up with kids who absolutely despised school, but they still went.

One thing that might work: if your high school or district offers an at-home study program. Look into it. Or getting your GED. But a warning with the GED: at your age, it makes it look like you gave up or are a quitter. Don't be a quitter.
