In UK, what happens if you are caught under influence of illegal drugs by the police but you aren't in possession of any? (i.e. you've already taken them)

  1. I don't know about the U.K., but in this country public intoxication and driving under the influence are offenses, regardless of whether the intoxication is caused by alcohol or other drugs. Otherwise, you normally have to actually have drugs in your possession in order to be arrested. There is technically no such crime as "being a drug user". However, there are some towns which have a charge known as "possession by consumption", where having the drugs in your system is considered a form of possession. But as a practical matter, somebody would still need to give a good reason for a cop to believe that he's on drugs in the first place (i.e. having drugs in his pocket, or the results of a blood test after being arrested for some other crime).

  2. yea, you would still get busted. its illegal to DO drugs. what proof you may ask? well, if your wasted, thats proof enough. the effects of them would be enough for them to book you
