Is belgium cheap to live in, whats the crime like

  1. Belgium is not cheap to live in.

    As Western European country, the prices are comparable with the Netherlands, France and England.

    It is a safe country though, the crime numbers being rather low.


  2. As is the case pretty much everywhere location is everything. If you're renting or buying a house around Brussels, Antwerp or any other major city the prices are pretty steep. In the countryside houses are cheaper. If you want to have an idea of housing prices then you can check out www.immoweb.be it's the biggest real estate site in Belgium and it's available in English.

    Cost of living is comparable to the rest of Western Europe. We don't have price wars going on in the supermarkets so groceries are more expensive then they are in the Netherlands or in France.

    Crime rates also depend on location. Some parts of the inner cities aren't very safe to walk around at night, but overall it's a pretty peaceful country.
