Question:

Is believing the Bible to be truth analogous to believing chain letters to be truth?

I mean, both were written by man, both purport themselves to be the truth with no outside evidence to support their claims, and both offer grave consequences for disbelieving.

Are chain letters a form of micro-religion?

  1. In that case, looks like I'm doomed to 20 years of bad luck, and my p***s is going to start to shrink. Yikes...

    To this person below me;

    Your going to burn in h**l for judging people. According to your religion, only God can judge man. Are you God?

  2. You will notice the same types of people who in engage in chain letters are the same kind who engage in religious activities as well.

    That is to say they are gullible

  3. The bible is 100% true, and you will burn in h**l for saying such a thing.

  4. The same applies to the atheist beliefs.

  5. No, the bible changes lives.  I haven't heard of chain letters doing that.

  6. That's a very good point.  I have compared the Bible to say, a fairy tale before.  There is no proof God exists.  There is proof Jesus, the man, existed.  There is no proof fairies don't exist.  Why knock people for believing in them?  I mean, to each his own.  But if people can believe in a god without proof, based on faith, why can't others believe in fairies, witches, aliens, etc without proof?  Why is the first socially acceptable and the second not?  Just because more people were convinced?  At one point most of the population believed in Santa.  You stopped believing in him when your parents told you he wasn't real.  What if they told you that same day that God wasn't real?

  7. Not at all. The Bible is true and if you are not a troll you can learn much from it.
