  1. I've gone around clubbing in Berlin and never once felt like I was going to get into trouble.

Of course, the general rules apply same as everywhere: Don't go away from the main drags by yourself, don't walk into dark alleyways....

But Berlin otherwise is very safe. If you stay with a couple of people, get some insider opinions on the places you're planning to go and don't do anything stupid, you should have a great time - I certainly did!

  2. Berlin is the crime capital of Germany - dangerous for jews and other minorities. I was robbed in Berlin; the police was not supportive - last week: Jewish kids were attacked, a black guy shot, 2 Turks attacked .... typical for the poorest city in Germany.

  3. I lived and worked in Berlin for 7 years and never was involved in or even watched any incident, so I'd consider it safe. Youth violence, too, is not really a problem; there's just a bit of a media hype about it right now. When in doubt, call a taxi; they're relatively cheap in Berlin.

  4. Safe yes,but  I still would be carefully between 10:00pm and 5:00am

Youth Violence is up,there were a few sad cases in other Cities lately, like in Hamburg ,an old Man got beaten so bad up from several young men, that it almost killed him.Do not drink or be alone on the way to a for example : Night Club and back to the hotel.

    Enjoy your stay,

    Native from Hamburg

  5. I would concur with Hilmar.

It is far safer than most American big Cities by far. SURE you could find or get into trouble in Berlin at night but not as high a risk say it was NYC, LA or DC!!

    Hope that helps.

  6. save as any city at night I'd say..

  7. A lot safer than any big city in the US yes but still it is a big city so be carefull during night time.If you stay in a hotel ask at the front desk if the restaurant club region you want to go is safe they will give you concrete information where to go and where not to go.

    Hope that helps
