Depends on where you go in France. I went 2 summers ago and stayed in Le Mans for almost 2 weeks (also spent day trips all over the place-- Paris, Chambord, Versailles, Mont Saint-Michel, etc.) and then the last couple of days in Paris. I liked Paris a lot, but it is very crowded if you go to the tourist places (though you still should make a point to visit these places, because they're lovely). There are plenty of places to go in France, and I'm sure plenty of places to go in Italy. I think it depends what you're looking for :)

i have not been to either but if i had the money to go to either of them i would be happy where ever i went so maybe if you are italian go to italy but if you have already been there then go to france maybe if you can not choose then

write down italy on one bit of paper and france on another and put them in a hat or bowl and close your eyes and pick one out and that is where you will go

Italy.. I have been there 8 times.. its the most beuatiful place everrr.. I love it there.. I haven't heard a good thing about France from anyone whose gone.. But I can whole heartedly recommend going to Italy.
