Is better to do high reps and low reps in when doing push ups or low sets and high reps ?

  1. Low sets, high reps. The point behind low reps is to completely exhaust the muscle group in those few reps; if you could just keep going you've defeated the purpose. Since you can't adjust the weight you're lifting with push ups (unless you put a weight plate on your back), they are not ideal for building strength. Do 2 or 3 sets of as many as you can, with proper  form (smooth, controlled pace, don't jerk, and chest nearly to ground) for best results.


  2. Just do slower pushups you will get more benefit from them

  3. I dont think that it will make a difference as far as how you will look, since it seems like you would be doing the same amount of pushups, just done in a different order. However, the one advantage of doing a set of high reps is that you can increase the endurance of the muscle a bit probably, but my best answer is that the difference would be negligible.
