  1. No. Each type of wager has it's own "pool". WPS, exacta, trifecta, etc...... A wager of that small size would never disrupt any of the aforementioned pools. If your making a win wager for example of $100 on horse, and your betting at a very small track, you will see an immediate impact on the odds. A small harness track for example, may only have $2,000 in a races entire win pool, thus a $100 wager would impact the odds very much. A larger track such as Saratoga Race Course or Del Mar however, have win pools around $200,000 a race, thus making your $100 a very small drop in a big bucket.

  2. No they are in separate pools.  If no one has the winning ticket then the payoff would go to anyone having the first 3 spots on a ticket for example if the result was:

    1st = 1

    2nd = 2

    3rd = 3

    4th = 4

    and no one had the 4 in 4th the payout would be 1-2-3-all.

  3. The superfecta is it's own pool, therefore it has no effect on the other  wagering pools. With the ten cent Superfecta it could effect the payout,it would be more likley that someone hits four longshots and recives a huge payout, as to if no one hits it, the pool would be divided among those with 3 of 4 correct.

  4. To xrhater,

    Your 10 cents are part of the overall pot so the answer is yes.  But you have to consider that it's only 10 cents so the effect is very minimal.  If you like to bet on horses visit the link below for excellent strategies on making money at the track.

  5. One person's bets should have an insignificant effect on the odds of anything they bet on. It is the effect of many people betting on something that might change the odds.
