Is biking good for raising speed n endurance?

hey im 13, and soccer tryouts are coming up and I need to raise my speed and endurance and I bike like 2 times a week that equals about 20 miles a week, im wondering if thats good for raising speed and endurance?

  1. I don't think that riding a bike would make dramatic changes, if you really want to run faster you have to be running not riding your bike.


  2. it will help your endurance if your doing harder rides, running speed i cant imagine there would be a major difference.

  3. it'll raise your endurance.  running speed, not so much.  20 miles a week biking isn't going to make a big difference anyway.  it would make a nice supplement though.  also depends on how hard you ride those 20 miles.  to increase your speed, sprints and interval training is a good, simple way as well as weight training, especially hamstrings.
