  1. it definitely helps

    reduces oil use

hopefully the leading scientists will improve it even further

  2. It depends on what type of material you are using to create the biodiesel, the one made from corn or sugar cane is not that good since big quantities can't be produced, I think the best option is the one made form bacteria.

Here is a good link if you want to know more:

  3. Only if sustainability criteria are enforced.

  4. Actually biodiseal i heard has given engines a far greater boost then normal diseal. Wouldn't bio diseal be more expensive then normal diseal? so then it'll lose most of its market in the first place?

    EDIT @ ADAM C

Global warming in a skeptics eyes is an illusion we saw past. So for those who think there is no global warming will think why take drastic/costly precautions to something that won't happen?

  5. Yes definately it helps ....

  6. No - the energy gain (energy produced - energy needed to grow crops and process) is actually marginal and, once other factors such as burning forests down to make room for the fuel crops, destruction of food crops driving up food prices leaving no money for developing countries to go green, etc, the overall effect may in fact be worse for global warming.

It does, however, allow countries to diversify their energy sources thus (supposedly) making them more secure - thus it becomes a political issue related to the "war on terror" instead of an environmental one...
