yes but it also depends on what kind of bird u want.i think cockateils,budgies,and lovebirds r good for avarage people.

In my experience with 7 years with a Quaker parrot

Pros: very good companion, low maintenance, rarely gets sick, unlike dogs, you can just set aside food/water and itll eat on its own time

Cons: noisy, needs playtime daily, must clean cage

would be cautious if you have kids or a cat ><

yes they are intresting to watch and great if you would like a freind because you can talk to them and they will not like anyone else as much as u ,they are easy to take care of so they do make great pets

Yes.  I suggest parrots.  They live longer than most pets, so you have plenty of time to bond and it is a lifelong commitment, so make sure you want one.  They need plenty of attention and love.  If you are busy, you should get finches, canaries, or some other "hands off" bird.
