Is black bean sauce the same as black bean chili sauce?

Is black bean sauce the same as black bean chili sauce?

They are not the same, black bean sauce usually for Asian dishes, and black bean chilly sauce using spicy chilly,, it;s hot!!

no...black bean sauce usually refers to the sauce that comes canned with black beans and black bean chili sauce, is a type of chili sauce (much spicier) with black bean flavors or even chunks.  A chili sauce still has a chili flavor as well.

Not the same, one is black fermented beans uncrushed often  with finely chopped fresh garlic  used  in Cantonese Chinese restaurants.  The other is a somewhat popular South American style sauce with   black beans unfermented and chilli mixed together, the beans are semi crushed in those,  black chilli sauces are  used alot  by Latinos or mexicans in their cooking.  

Note the variation of  fermented and unfermented, bit of  difference. They are not even of the same type of beans by origin. Also worth knowing is  the crushed and uncrushed style of cooking as well. The two taste and look quite different.
