Is bleaching hair really bad?

Question

I've dyed my hair hair numerous times & I'm scared of bleaching it but i want to BADLY. I'm scared that I'll end up bald or w/ really thin hair =[ what should I do?

I have long voluminous hair but it's also starting to fall a bit because of the heat i use w/ my hair.

help?

whatever you do to your hair is bad. Go be brave! Bleach your hair use Moroccan miracle oil gold after and it will help smooth any fried parts over and oh ya hair grows back

you wont go bald (assuming you didnt just die it super dark) but more will fall out. but if want to do it then do it. i had long thick hair too but after i went platinum it thinned out and now its shorter but its growing back.

bleaching fries your hair. if i were u, i wouldn't bleach it cause it ruins your hair, but if it is only once and your hair is not already damaged i think it would be ok......

You will not go bald lol. Your hair BREAKS from bleaching because theres such intense chemicals being applied to your hair. My friend got her hair bleached professionally and the lady constantly checked it , to make sure it wasn't breaking. SO GET IT PROFESSIONALLY DONE I BEG OF YOU!!!!!

I wouldn't bleach it personally. Two of my girl pals went to bleach it to make it snow white. it came out yellow. no lie lol.

But if you really wanna bleach it then it will probably be okay, your hair will be really dry so just deep condition often and try to stay away from heat for a while.

you wouldnt go bald and you wouldnt have thin hair either but it does kill your hair it might get like horse hair and you also might get alot of breakage i would not recommend it  and also if you have roots and dyed hair it will get lighter on your roots then on your dyed hair

Stop bleaching because bleaching dissolves hair. Stop using heat on your hair because fries hair out.

Never a good idea to bleach hair.  Can be damaging so instead use a rinse for color treatments.

I heard it's really unhealthy for your hair, but I bet if you use really good Hair Products it  will make it alot healthier.    Or just get a really light blonde that looks like bleach but really isn't! GOOD LUCK!

bleaching is not bad, it is just a harsh word. highlighting is doing the same thing. if you do decide to use bleach please go to a professional because when people who aren't well educated about the chemicals they are using and the effect they have on hair that is when tragic things happen. but to answer your question if you want to get rid of the color in your hair this is the route for you

If you constantly use products that usually end up frying your hair, bleaching it will not be a good idea.

If you're going to bleach it, get it done at a salon.

Under no circumstances you should do it yourself.

My sister recently got her hair bleached for some purple highlights - her hair feels really nice, not fried at all.

EDIT: Also, you're going to have to take very good care of your hair.

Like getting something to protect your hair from frying because of your heat products.

Bleaching damages your hair. It won't make you bald or anything, lol, but your hair will be more brittle and breakable.

dying your hair "numerous times" is still unhealthy for your hair. your putting chemicals in your hair, but hey, it's your hair.  some people may say, no, it doesn't harm your hair at all, but in the long run, when you're forty, ur hair will be all frizzled out and look dried and gross.

as far as damage, since you said your hair is already falling then dont do it!!, it wil looo so fried and ugly

ooh and another thing, if your not intending on staying blonde for a whie then dont do it because ever since i bleached my hair, now when i dye my hair whether its brown or black or any color,it always fades out super fast and stay a blondish orange color
