I have an elite dvd player, not blue ray...with a HDMI cable from it to the tv. I have a 42 in. plasma flat screen tv (Elite).

Would I notice a difference if I change to a blue-ray player?

A lot or not much because of the size of my screen?

  1. yo yea def! i work at S****y ole sears in electronics...40 inch range is perfect for HD and 1080p signals

if ur plasmas a 720p / 1080i then it wont be a huge jump but noticable...id say wait for another 3 1/2 months or until you find a Sony Samsung or Sharp for under $330

blu-ray is God! buy any newer pixar movie, pirates 3, or any brand new B.A. action flick

    peace

  2. Yes, you would notice a BIG difference between a Blu Ray and even your upconverting DVD player. Not only in picture quality but also in sound if you are using a Home Theater sound setup. Blu Ray is TRUE HD and for a set like yours well worth the investment. I'd recommend the Playstation 3 if you are looking at buying a Blu Ray player. For 399 dollars it is still the best player out there as it is profile 2.0 enabled (with firmware update via the internet) has built in Wi Fi for BD live content, can be used as a media extender from your Media Center PC, has a hard drive for storing music and pictures and oh by the way can play video games. It is by far the best value for a Blu Ray player on the market.
