Yes.  Bombardier was founded by Armand Bombardier, inventor of the snowmobile.  In the 1950s they got into mass transport with the purchase of the Montréal Locomotive works and over the next few decades purchased several other rail car manufacturers in Canada, the USA and elsewhere.  They got into the aviation business by acquiring Canadair, De Havilland, Shorts Missiles and Learjet.  They recently split off the recreational products division and sold it to the Bombardier family to focus on transport and aerospace.
