Is booze a way to dumb down all social classes?

Ok. Is over consumption of alcohol a way to keep people of all social classes dumbed down. Along with c**p entertainment etc.?

Look I know a lot of people think it's just the white trash red necks and poor blacks etc that are dumbing down.

NO!! It's also the middle and upper class white bread bozos. I used to work in the most upper crust mall in Cininnati. And I saw zombies like the original Dawn of the Dead. Seems like everyone from 12-50 was concerned with nothing but comsumerism and hedonistic pleasure seeking. While not bad in small doses. Make on stupid if over done.

And the one activity they all talked about. (-the 12 year olds) . Going to the club and getting drunk every weekend.

While it is important to get out. It seems hitting a dance club and getting wasted is a universal idea. h**l seems to be the only idea of getting out to most people.

Well I'm ranting. Main theme is booze a common connector in dumbing down our populace regardless of social status? Like that Idiocracy flick.

hmm.. Interesting thought, however I think you may be missing a point. Going out "parting" has never or will never be a "social status" thing.

That just depends on which club you will be attending and whether mommy and daddy gave you a credit card or you had to babysit to save your money to go out.

As far as your experience working in a mall... Although to you I am certain based on your statement that you assumption is correct.

The mall is where people go to buy what they need or want. So your over generalizing in a huge way. You may see me and never see me again.

Do you wear cloths, shoes, sunglasses anything purchased at a store...

Also if I might add... You seem to be making a thoughtful point to ponder... and almost lost me with the side sarcasm and name calling. Use your intelligence to keep people thinking not push them away !

In my country you can drink at 16, and drive only at 18. What happens is that kids try alcohol very early, their parents consume it at the meals, and it's no big deal. We don't have to get drunk because, well, anyone can drink alcohol whenever they want, in MacDonald's, or in ANY restaurant at any time. Anyone can buy it in the supermarket, and people over 16 are free to drink it in the street. It's such a non event that nobody says " OMG tomorrow We're going to club and get WASTED" they might go to the club, and they might even get wasted, but they won't brag about it, because drinking is normal it's not a "cool" thing to do or taboo. Because we can drink so early anything resembling responsibility, like driving a car- we can't do until we are over 18.

No, booz is no way to handle yours, or anyone Else's problems. It can be a horrible addiction, and using it to get away from your life is shallow. Just ignore the new "in-crowds" and styles. Ignore what everyone has to say. I agree with you on the terms that booz is bad....but don't let it get to your head. How does any class of people or their problems affect you? What you should really do is concentrate on your dream in life...worry about how well you are going to live the rest of your life; Instead of advising opinions and getting answers like these from 14 year olds.
