  1. The tap water is not "filtered" by a sink.   Tap water is filtered and treated at a water treatment plant.   Yes, bottled tap water is the same water as tap water in the area that it was bottled.

  2. Much of the bottled water is filtered tap water. If it is spring water then it comes from a natural spring and may or may not be filtered at all.

You can always check out each company's web sites to see what they do with the water. The best bottler I have found is Deer Park. I was impressed with their filtering methods.

  3. Filtered by a kitchen sink? They have water treatment plants. But What a great way to make money. Boiled water, bottled and refrigerated would be good enough.

  4. Some bottled water companies use tap water from local municipal water supplies, filters it using the process of reverse osmosis and adds trace amounts of minerals, including magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt), potassium chloride (a sodium-free substitute for table salt), and common salt.
