  1. yes it is. the earlier you start training the more of an advantage you will have

  2. yeh,my 15 year old lad is a boxer hes fit and healthy never to late to start

  3. its a really good sport  protection will be more securie brillant fighting skills and great exersise

  4. yeah great time

  5. Sammy boxing is actually a great sport for any age, the workout portion at least competition is totally different, but at 16 yes you have several years to learn and to compete against different styles. Boxing teaches discipline, beyond what people think that boxing teaches violence, it teaches self-control, and lifts self-esteem. There have been many of youth that have left the streets, the gangs to find themselves in the gym doing something positive for themselves! Give it a try!

  6. Definatley give it a go. Boxing keeps you healthy, mind and body. It gives you a great hobby and interest and a direction in life. It teaches great positive attitudes.

You are young and if you start now could have a great boxing life. When you are twenty four and can invite people you meet to come and see your fight you will be so proud of yourself evn if you win or loose. It is more than most people do with there lives, sitting and watching tv waiting to die.

  7. yup :)

  8. 16 might be considered a little late, but I don't see why you couldn't start now.  If you're trying to be competitive, go slow, some of these opponents might have been fighting along time.  Good luck.

  9. There's nothing wrong with starting at that age or any other age. Now, I will say depending on your reason of interest in boxing, then age may have a very small factor, but nothing that's impossible to overcome. Personally, I think if you're looking to compete serious and go somewhere with it, then the earlier you start, then the better off you'd be. If you are just doing it as a good way to get and stay in shape, then there's definitely no age limit on starting.

Myself and a couple of guys I went to school with started boxing when we were in junior high school.

  10. yes for shere because it gets you in shape for the girls and it is a good sport for a boy

  11. Sure! The younger the better. I began boxing in the summer before my freshman yr in school to get into shape for football, and continued that routine all the way through my Army stint. Before you head to the gym though, get out and get some roadwork in, like jogging and sprints. On the days you dont jog, push-ups, chin-ups, and A LOT of sit-ups! Also, add about 10 mins of jumping rope everyday. This will get you conditioned a bit before u begin to hit the bags and spar. Good luck my man!!

  12. Yeah its a great age to start, you get one great workout and  once you get a taste for it your really enjoy it. I started when I was about a year ago and wish I had started at your age.

    Good luck dude.

  13. great age fella, trouble with boxers here in the UK is they start(like me)to young, sometimes as young as 10,and by the time they are 16 they are spent up in a lot of ways, good question!and good luck!!
