Is break dancing just for boys?

i go to a break dance, and i am a 14 year old girl, and i love it so much, but there are only like 4 girls at my group and lots of boys.. it just makes me wonder if people think it is only for boys??

im not complaining!

when you see break dancers on the Tv they are mainly boys.. do you think it is just for boys?

  2. break danceing is a dance for everyone to enjoy. Though not everyone is good at it. girls can so do breakdancing and i know many girls who do... The reason many breakdancers are boys is because, breakdancing takes and incredible amount of upperbody strength... Its pretty awesome that your taking up breakdanceing, continue dancing, it dosent matter what other people think, all that matters is how u feel while your danceing.. hope this helps

  4. no its not just for guys.break danceing is cool but if a guy sees that and dosnt know how to break dance they will think that is pretty cool that a girl knows how to break dance!!!!show them wat u got!

    some of my mates break dance and thier mostly girls .

  10. No no no!! Breakdancing is definitely for girls as much as for boys.

    Think of it this way: In ballet, there must be like 30 girls for every boy, so the boys have a better chance of being successful as there's less competition. It's the same in breakdancing, just the other way around.

  11. NO WAY!!! I break dance...sure... there are probably a lot more guy break dancers but that just means it's more their style. A ballet dancer probably wouldn't break dance. And it's just because it's not their style. It just depends on your style choice.

  13. There're probably more male break-dancers, but it's totally open to girls as well! I've seen wonderful female breakdancers. Go for it!
