i download a lot of music (100 songs per month)

and just regular usage apart from that

  1. dollar for dollar broadband is actually less expensive for what you get.  But in terms of real $$ then yes Broadband is usually about 50% more expensive.


  2. depending on how long you stay connected in the internet.  There are different types of broadband the slower the connection the cheaper it will be.  I suggest getting a broadband connection because with dial up we are really limited to what we can do in the internet (Unless you want to wait a lifetime), I used dial up connection before and all I do is to surf, now that I got myself a pretty good connection I can watch videos and download stuff, lot faster.

  3. It depends on what you call broadband.  Actually, DSL is broadband, and today this is pretty competitive with dial-up price-wise.

    I consider 100 songs an hour "a lot of music."  I've done this and more using a cable connection or wireless.
