Is broadband much more expensive than dial-up?

dollar for dollar broadband is actually less expensive for what you get.  But in terms of real $$ then yes Broadband is usually about 50% more expensive.

depending on how long you stay connected in the internet.  There are different types of broadband the slower the connection the cheaper it will be.  I suggest getting a broadband connection because with dial up we are really limited to what we can do in the internet (Unless you want to wait a lifetime), I used dial up connection before and all I do is to surf, now that I got myself a pretty good connection I can watch videos and download stuff, lot faster.

It depends on what you call broadband.  Actually, DSL is broadband, and today this is pretty competitive with dial-up price-wise.

I consider 100 songs an hour "a lot of music."  I've done this and more using a cable connection or wireless.
