the water at our apartment turns yellow/brown twice a month & its getting on my nerves! i called the apt & they told me they will look into it. the last few times i called they said to call 311 & that it has to do with the city.

i was washing my toddlers butt & v****a in the sink & after i put her down i saw the water was yellow. I have no idea if it turned yellow while i was washing it or after. thats so disgusting! if i did wash her in the yellow water, wat will it do to her?

  1. forget that half rot apartment, save you some brown/ yellow water, call the health department, get thier ok that it's bad, contact some lawyers tell them the deal, tell them the negligance and refusal of them to fix it either city or complex. The lawyer if he takes it will only charge if he wins, if he thinks he can win and he'll contact the city or owners. Sad thing is they will fix it when the lawyer or health dept calls. It's been months so you can see what the lawyer says, you may already have enough to file suit. Tell me where it is, I'll get an apt for a month to get in on the suit.

  2. yes very unsafe

  3. If i were you, i will take my child to the hospital, them i will report the owner to the housing authorities, since you were dealing, with this same problem for a while, i remember answering, your question, about this same issues,  I had told you, that my husband work on houses , and apartments,  and he had told me to tell you, to go complain to the city-inspectors, i hope you did that,  because if you did not do it, you eitheir  have to moved  or make sure they fix the problem, which is a pipe, rust, and broken , and it is leaking under the ground, so that water is not good , to drink, nor to takes baths, not to wash your clothes in,  you should take this very  seriously,  that water will make your whole family real sick.  take it from me, i already told you all what my husband told me to tell you, the rest is up to you, why stay and be sorry later, good luck. peace to you.

  4. You might check with the city but my guess--not knowing your specific situation-- is that the water is a little rusty. Rusty water, while a little unnerving to look at, is perfectly fine to bathe in.

  5. Since your apartment complex seems disinterested... CALL THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT! There is no telling what the substance is that is causing the water to change colors! It could simply be iron ore from the ground if you live in a rural area, then again it could be sewer contamination. I agree, drink bottled water until the cause is discovered, and hopefully you have a friend or relative nearby where you and your child can bathe. GOOD LUCK!

  6. Call 311 and if nothing is done, have the Dept of Housing and Urban Renewal do an inspection.  You do not have to pay for this.  Water should not be anything but clear.  If you run it a little bit and it still looks brown or yellow, it's not clean and could make you sick.

  7. That's unhealthy. If no one's going to look into it, you need to move.  That water is definitely unhealthy especially for you toddler.

  8. IM REALLY GUESSING SO! dont drink it! buy some water bottles from the store and use that for EVERYTHING! dont ever drink dirty water like that!

  9. oh yeah! Id be moving to another apartment. no way I'd be washing my baby in that filth, better to use bottled water. ( you can buy huge 5 gallon containers of it) at least until the problem is fixed. there could be fecal matter getting into the water for all you know. I'd be screaming at EVERYBODY to get this fixed. DON"T drink this water either. Oh Yuck! I'm so sorry for you.

  10. washing her will be fine, just don't drink it.
