Is building a 2 storey house more expensive than 1 storey (same square footage)?

Assuming all else is equal..

A two-story home should be less expensive to build than a one-story home of the same square footage. You will spend less on foundation and roofing materials. Check out the link below stating some of the pros and cons of building a one-story or a two-story home.

Definately more expensive..You have alot of tradesmen that will have tyo work off of ladders or scaffolds that way..from electricians, carpenters, painters, siding people etc... It is slower work plus constructing the scaffolding up and down and moving it.it will take alot more labor to do a 2 story than a 1 story

should cost a little less.  smaller foundation.

it will also be cheaper to heat and cool
