  1. Have you ever spun a top? As the top winds down it begins to wobble before it falls. I believe the wobble of the earth is due to the rate of spin coupled with an earth that is not truly round, but more egg shaped. I know it's an old fashioned toy that many young people have never heard about, but see if you can find a top and try it just to see what I am saying.

  2. The wt being displaced is not significant when compared to the mass of the earth.  So no worries ... no wobble.

  3. No.

Think of it this way, neither can we stop the millions of micrometeorites that hit this planet every day and they either burn up in the atmosphere or and add tons of new material all the time.  Then every so often we've been slammed with an asteroid or even the Tunguska Blast which is said to be a kilometer-wide comet that exploded.  And the Earth and us are still all right.

  4. lets think about this sensibly. the answer is no.

  5. Well it would be a problem, but since we make millions of cars and buildings to offset the use of oil.

(and if you believe that I have some carbon credits to sell you)

  6. no thats you having one leg shorter than the other.

  7. Yep- that's why the earth is spinning uncontrollably and on a crash course towards the sun as we speak...

  8. Please read some scientific literature on global warming.  You will find that WHEN ACCOUNTING FOR NATURAL CAUSES,  the evidence suggest that human activity is responsible fro the changes in climate we can now observe.

The IPCC summary for policy makers for working group 1 is easy to read, so you don't need a lot of education to understand it.

Are you up to the task?

  9. Taking the oil from below to above ground does not change the distribution of weight much.

The *warming*, which may melt many tons of ice at the poles, might shift lots of weight from polar regions to the equator.

  10. You need to have a peer review, then get a consensus, and win a noble peace prize.   Your well on the way to a PHD

  11. NO !!! As U take out the oil it is replaced with salt water.
