  1. Chemical.

    Physical changes are usually reversible and does not involve breaking / forming or bonds.

    Chemical changes, on the other hand, are usually irreversible and the breaking / forming of bonds do take place.

    Burning of paper produces ash, smoke and also releases heat.

    It is impossible to change this products back to its original form, paper.

    Thus, burning paper is a chemical change.

  2. chemical. because the reaction is exothermic. which means heat is given off.

  3. Chemical, when your burn something its reacting with oxygen very quickly.

  4. chemical

  5. Burning paper = chemical. It's no longer paper anymore just ashes. You are adding heat (energy) to it.

    ripping papter = physical. It's still paper, just in smaller pieces.

    Chemical happens when bonds are broken and formed. This can be done by adding energy (e.g. heat)

    ex. 2)

    Add electrical charged energy to water

    2 H2O (l) -->2 H2(g)  + O2 (g)

    This is no longer water, it's hydrogen and oxygen gas. that was chemical.

    Physical happens when structural compound stays the same. E.g. water is still water whether it's liquid, solid, or gas. It's just the H2O molecules are spaced more widely/closely apart. But the H2O molecules are still H2O molecules.

  6. it is a chemical change
