Specs:

One of the wheels is out of TRUE

58cm frame. Rigida rims,Normandy hubs,Mafac brakes,Simplex deraillers

I am not looking to purchase anything of luxury, just something faster than my crummy Wal-Mart mountain bike. I am wondering if this is worth 120$ or should I pay less for it.

  1. Ummmm, if you choose to buy it keep in mind that it is an old bike and will likely need a complete overhaul before you ride it... I mean, it is probably rideable now, but for best performance I am certain it will require a rebuild of hubs, bottom bracket, headset, and other major things. This will set you back at LEAST $75.

$120 is a bit steep considering the bike sold for $120 new. I suggest offering $50 and buying it at $60.

  2. you can buy a new bike new bike for that i price i think you shouldnt

  3. jimmy n - you can buy a new bike new bike for that i price i think you shouldnt...

WRONG...He has a walmart bike...thats all you can get for $120.00

I say go for it, nonetheless its a classic.  Just make sure nothing is unfixable...such as anything bent, or real bad grinding noises, etc.  Make sure all is moveable.  I'm sure its a nice bike, and for the money you will put into it will be much better than anything you can buy with what you are putting out.

  4. I can't see the picture. Don't know why. Unless it's a real classic bike like a PX10 in good shape I'd pass on it. 58cm is a big frame. Are you sure it fits you?
