  1. Consumer Reports says NO to extended warranties.  

    And I agree, waste of money.


  2. I totally disagree with the first reply, and highly recommend an extended warranty for such products.  (And in general, I hate extended warranties).

    I have a Hitachi 50" Plasma which hit the skids right after the one year warranty expired.  Some electrical surge blew out the main circuit board.  The cost to repair without the warranty ?  $650.  My cost with the $130 three year warranty ?  ZERO.

  3. its a total waste of money. if the tv is going to break it will break soon and still be under warranty. or it will break later on when the tv is not worth anything anymore.

  4. yeah get the warrenty. its better to be covered then to p**s away over a G.

  5. Its a total waste of money, if anything is going to go wrong it will happen in the first 12 months which you will be covered for.

    IMO its a scam, just another ploy to extract as much money off the consumer as possible. I personally dont know anyone who buys extended warranty.
