  1. i dont think its a good idea, if your a rich kid then go ahead but if your starting from scratch dont do it... when you buy a car, as soon as you drive it! it loses its value. the price drops and when you do it up its a head do in... body kits if you can put them on yourself ... good on yah.. mechanic's these days are shifty b******s they charge you a lot. with systems and the full effect of the interior... as i said if your a rich kid go ahead... if your starting from scratch you wont be able to catch up with the technology... they upgrade all the time... my mate spent 7 years on his car... and when you look at it now his system is old interior isnt good enough for any salons and sales... you can give it a shot, i was into my cars but as soon as i was done with my car i sold it i couldnt afford it... up to you i'd say no..

  2. i think that you should concider doing something else ,what with the oil crisis we all may find ourselves riding pushbikes or back to horses.. perhaps rollerblades.. put your thoughts into inventing another form of transit

  3. I knew a guy that did that, and he did okay.  Of course, you're not really allowed to spend money on them.  You need to spend work on them.  Particularly, if you buy a really dirty car, and then clean it up, detail it, and wax it, that doesn't cost you much money.  If the value goes up $500 you've done okay.

  4. To "do up" cars takes alot of experience and knowledge to do correctly. Whilst it may sound like a very cool job, the reality is doing up your own cars in your spare time will be far more rewarding then working on cars every single day as your job. If you have the experience and knowledge then this would be a great job for you but if you merely have an interest in cars (like myself) then you will be better off doing up your own cars as a hobby.

  5. I think you should follow your passion ,you only live once.

  6. That's what used car dealers do.

Your state may have a law stating that after few cars per year, you have to get dealer license.

    good Luck...

  7. well thats what my husband does he does ok but only if you know what you are doing he does all the work himself so he makes a good profit.

  8. No, its a d**n rat race.
