Is buying citywide wireless internet a good idea?

Question

I currently use comcast, but noticed the coverage for our city wireless is great and its cheaper. I have a laptop and an xbox with wireless.

I wonder if its going to be a pain to set up a wireless network with a wireless modem.

I suppose I could try and use their roaming password for both machines, but then I can't stream via the Mediacenter to my Tv (something I love to do).

Maybe this is a bad idea for gaming and downloading huh?

I don't know about pricing at all, but I have wireless and it's very unreilable.  It will just randomly stop working.  That might just be my town though.
