  1. Jerome, he's asking because iodine is useful in treatment of goitre because goitre is caused due to the thyroid gland being unable to produce iodine, and those hormones are made of iodine. Or something like that. So the writer needs an intake of iodine for himself, or his friend/patient. And a good diet is a good way to do that.

Again, I'm going by memory here, so I could be wrong. I might have to line up next to B Knott Wildered over there for a 100 lashes, too!

Still, in a sense you're right, Jerome. There are other websites where something as serious as this could be researched.

  2. Why Do People Ask These Stupid Questions

If You DOnt Know, DOnt Eat It

    Simple x

  3. I am assuming English is not your native language, so this is not meant to criticize. But to restate your question:

Does cabbage contain iodine? Is it OK for a patient with a goiter to increase their intake of cabbage?

The answer is no, it is not. Cabbage can interfere with the body's use and absorption of iodine. I am going from memory, so If I get a chance I will verify my answer, but I am sure enough I went ahead and put it in here. If I am wrong, I will take my twenty lashes, or whatever punishment is appropriate and correct my answer.

I checked. The content of iodine in cabbage depends on the soil in which it was grown. I stand behind it not being good to eat too much of it if you have a goiter.
