definatley. in califoria, they have building regulations and such to make it so much safer. people think that earthquakes happen all the time here, like an earthquake season. but earthquakes don't happen much, and it's rare that it's gonna be a big one. china has earthquakes like everywhere else, but  their buildings are not as stable. any place in the world could have an earthquake.
