Is calling from a landline to a cell longdistance?

If the landline phone and the cell im calling is with the same area code and same city.

  2. Nope.  As long as the phone your calling is local then it's not long distance.

This will depend on what number you are calling.  If it normally a local call - let's say tour friend down the street, and they are in another state - then yes it is a local call.  If the number you are calling is a different area code - yes it is then a long distance call even if they are at you friends house down the street.

  4. if the AREA CODE of the cell phone is local to the calling area that you are calling from then it is a local call regardless of where the person with the cell phone is located...

    some local calling areas are served by multiple area codes, so disregard the answer that said if you dial 1 it is automatically a long distance call...

  5. It is not a long distant call unless you dial 1 first.
