  1. please remember that there is rice (carb) in sushi and also sometimes mayo and it can also be high in salt. as a meal its pretty complete with the carb and protein so you can make it into a meal. Sushi is traditionally served as an appetizer and not a side dish.

  2. I live japanese food! You can have it as a meal. I usually get 2 or 3 rolls and share it with someone as a meal.

Sometimes I'll eat it as a side too. I'll order a bento box or an entree and get a sushi roll on the side.

You should not eat raw fish everyday. I've had it three days in a row, but wouldn't recommend anymore than that. Bacteria can grow easier. I know someone who ate 5 lbs of rawfish in one sitting (I'm not sure why) and got tapeworms. You should also have wasabi or the white shredded radish, it's yummy and it kills some of the bacteria that can grow on raw fish.

  8. its either a meal or snack. eating it every day... a bad thing. good in moderation but once every day is far too far- become fattening. make it twice or once a week.

  9. Sushi is a meal! and you can eat it everyday- just watch the amount of rice and find a good balance. It is not fattening, if you avoid the creamy sauces, tempura and anything fried.

  10. In Japan generally a meal. Here in the states can be both.

  11. Sushi is traditionally eaten as a meal. I'm sure you could eat it everyday if you wanted, it's very healthy!

Have a look at videojug.com and look up sushi. There is a great tutorial on the custom and etiquette.

  12. Sushi should be a meal but you could easily make it a side dish if you want by making some steamed veggies, salad etc. You should check the exact fish that you are eating to make sure that it doesn't have too much mercury. You can do that by going to this website http://www.gotmercury.org/article.php?li...

There you will put in your weight, the fish you are eating and how much and it will tell you if the mercury levels are too high. Mercury is dangerous in high levels but as long as you eat a fish that is low in mercury then you should be fine. It's not at all fattening and is otherwise pretty healthy.

  13. meal and I think it is ok to eat every day

  14. Sushi is a meal in itself unless you only eat a piece or two- I go out with my sister and friends all the time for it and it's so good.

I don't see why eating it everyday would be bad- and no sushi is not fattening, unless you eat only the shrimp sushi, shrimp has a lot of cholesterol, but california rolls and things like that are low fat.

  15. Meal especially with some miso soup and some edamame.

Sushi isn't bad it is very healthy for your body. Fishes have a lot of healthy nutrients. when you cook a fish it's Vitamin D and E gets destroied, but sushies don't. this is why japaneese people live for a long time

  18. it can be both.

    california rolls are fattening.

  19. Sushi is a meal by itself. It has protein and carbohydrates needed for energy.
