  1. Cancun WAS an island, it is now more like a peninsula, they joined it with two bridges and now the part between Puerto Juarez (where the people from Cancun live) and Cancun is joined.

In the laguna (the piece of sea between both lands) you can find nice crocodiles and very few fish, on the other side of cancun you can find the reef and the open sea.

So both are correct, it is and it is not an island, lol.

  2. yes it is an island joined by 2 bridges, Ciudad Canun is on the main land , so which are you referring to

  3. It's more of a peninsula with a 'hook', where the beaches are mostly on the 'hook'.

  4. No it's not it's in the Yucatan peninsula.

    :]

  5. No Cancun is not an island.  It is on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, which is close to Playa Del Carmen.  Cozumel is an island in Mexico that can only be reached by boat or plane.

  6. There are 2 parts to Cancun.

The hotelzone is an island in the fact that it's joined by two bridges at each end.

The other part of Cancun is the city which is not an island no.
