Is canvassing dangerous?

My dad doesn't want me to go around because he thinks going door to door is dangerous. BTW, I am not promoting a candidate, I'm just registering people to vote.

You can have a home invasion in your own home in today's world. There isn't anywhere that's 100% safe.

I wouldn't suggest you do this alone however. Certainly there is someone that can go with you door to door. I would also pick a better neighborhood then some others and do it during the daylight hours.
