  1. prob not cus i dont think they use the same tools.

  2. it will hurt badly trust me my uncle did that and he cant take the pain.

  3. That's just stupid. Why would you want to know what carving your skin is like .... and tattoos are different for everyone. Sometimes it hurts sometimes it doesn't...

  4. The two are definitly NOT the same, but each has its own purpose, or beauty.  Tattoos involve the application of color into the dermis(the lowest layer of the skin in which new skin cells grow) by way of a needle producing holes which allow the color to enter. The color stays there permanently because the skin does not become replaced every couple of days, like the epidermis.  This is relativaly painful, depending on where it is.  If it is applyed over a bone, it can be more painful then when applied over softer tissue (because of added pressure).  Some tattoos can take days because they are so big, and therefore are way more painful (but, in my opinion 10 times the better) Some areas are especially sensitive, such as your belly, side, underarm and neck.

Carving into your skin is a body mod known as scarification, because the subsequent scars form a design or pattern.  I personally haven't gotten one, or know many people that have but apparently its supposed to be excrutiating, and if done properly can have some really interesting and unique results.  I guess the only problem would be that it is more likely to have negative effects on other people (potential employers; gov officials) rather than tats which are now becoming more mainstream.

So no, the two are not the same :)

  5. What you're referring to is scarification, which is very different from getting a tattoo. Scarification is where they carve into your skin and peel your skin away, allowing a raised scar to form. It does indeed hurt more.

  6. if you carv your skin you are actually CUTTING it instead of having a needle POKE up. common now use your noggin.

  7. Skin carving would hurt a lot more because the procedure is more invasive.  Although the skin carvings are beautiful when they first heal up they don't usually last long (depending on how your body heals scars) the scars should fade more than a tattoo would. Also, the wound would be more open which could lead to an infection and it would take longer to heal than a tattoo.  It's your choice but if you don't want to deal with the pain then you shouldn't carve your skin.

  8. i would strongly suspect skin carving would hurt a LOT more.

    and i have 9 tattoos.

  9. I would think carving into your skin is going to hurt one h**l of a lot more than a tattoo.  Plus, think of all the bacteria you could get in the cut, the scarring, and all the other side effects! I can handle a tattoo more than I can when I cut myself!

  10. No. Tattoo is ink. Carving is just being stupid.
