  1. depends upon the vet.  i believe mine was 117, but you can find cheaper vets.  usually the ones who care more about the animals are much more fairly priced.

  2. My vet back home is out in the country.  It cost about $30 to neuter my cat when I went home to visit my parents.  (Of course, there was also a $20 exam fee because he had not seen the cat before... got the cat vaccinated at another vet where I am living and going to school).

There was no way I was going to pay some city vet $220 to do blood tests and neuter my cat.   If you spend over $100 to get your cat neutered, you were probably ripped off.  My home town vet has spayed and neutered many of our animals, all without complications.

By the way, my vet DOES care about animals.  He is so well liked that he happens to have so many clients he can afford to keep prices low.

If you have to, see the shelter about a discount spay/neuter plan.

  3. It depends on if it's male or female. If you have a male, the procedure will cost less.

If you go to a well known vet clinic, you will pay alot more. If you make an appointment with a small town clinic, it will be cheaper. The larger clinics wanted over $180 and up for my female cat...While the small town one was willing to do it for $90.

Just call around and get quotes.

  4. There are low cost/free spay neuter clinics:http://neuterspay.org/

Good luck and good for you for getting your pet spayed/neutered!!!

  5. call your local humane society.  if you have low income, you will get your cat neutered at a lower rate ($25 at my humane society)

    and they also offer vaccines.

  6. Depends. My local vets charge a couple hundred to do it.

But I go to the no-kill anmal shelter and they have a low cost clinic. $20 neuters a cat there.

Call some shelters and see if they have a low cost clinic

  7. shelters do them for free! its against the law to have them un neutered or spayed.

    they shouldnt say no.

  8. Pick up the phone and call the local Vet. I am guessing they could tell you.

  9. my dog neutering was like 200 i think so it shouldnt be any higher i think.

  10. Won't hurt to ask with strays its free.

  11. Generally the cheapest procedure for dogs or cats is neutering.  Maybe $0-$75, depending on the source.  Some ASPCAs offer free neutering or coupons to make sure it gets done!

  12. It depends on the area that you live in.  Where I live they don't do free neutering for stray animals, but if you get your animal from the animal shelter you can get some of your money back.

Here it typically cost about $265 to get a female cat spayed and about $220 for a male cat to get neutered.

You should call around to the different vets in your area.  The prices may vary.

  13. if its for a male its cheaper if its a female you are looking at a little more each vet is different. if you don't want to go to a vet go to the ASPCA humane society they should  be able to do it a little cheaper.
