Question:

Is changing global warming the best idea?

How do we know that changing our climate is the best for the world? Are there reprocussions for our changes to climate change?

Is it best for the future of the world to change what's happening now? Why do people consider warming a bad thing when we're in an upswing from a normal cooling trend?

Please, only serious opinions only. The best answer will be chosen because of proper citation and proof.

  1. Yes The part of the hot world is cooling down and the cold world is heating down its just change of climate.

It was newtons concept of every action has equal and opposite reaction thats why the cold places are turned hot and the hot places are cooling down.

  2. Warming the earth as much and as fast as we're doing is a very bad idea.  We need to reduce our impacts.

Or, the results will include coastal flooding, and serious damage to our sophisticated and intensive agriculture.  Details here:

To fix those problems (moving people away from coasts, replacing things lost to flooding, fixing argriculture) will require many hundreds of billions of dollars.  The result will likely be a worldwide Depression.  More details:

Poor countries can't afford to deal with all this.  Some people will die of starvation, others will flee across national borders, causing great unrest, maybe wars.  The US military is very concerned:

    The bottom line:

"If the Earth came with an operating manual, the chapter on climate might begin with a caveat that the system has been adjusted at the factory for optimum comfort, so don't touch the dials."

  3. No one knows.  Any "solution" to global warming could cause more damages that the problem itself.

  4. There are some very serious problems from climate change due to AGW. One of the most obvious 'symptoms' of climate change will be increased instability in the daily weather world wide. That will wreak havoc on the world's food production.  Crops don't do well in an unstable climate. Starvation is a serious possibility.

  5. no its not so...

global warming is normal but now it is more than what it happens normally..

a ice berg which was alive for millions of years have been melted recently due to the increasing temperatures....

the temp increase made a lot of forest fires in USA and Australian countries...

large number of floods in all parts of the world...

polar bears have been striving for their lives...

in Antarctica, where we think no one lives has been a place for we to produce electricity and leave out the exhaust directly into the atmosphere...

new thing - ocean foam in Australia..

    what are these things..

also do u know that the warmest years were only recorded in the last decades..

then too many coast lying regions will disappear in the forthcoming years..

Florida going to vanish one day..

Maldives going to be in the sea....

  6. We can not control the weather. we can not eve make it rain, much less control global temps. It really is an idiotic idea.

Let's assume the AGW fanatics are right and we are changing the temperature by a degree or so, and this will lead to catastrophic problems later on. So what if we drastically lower emmision? We now that nature adapts to its surrounding. Trees and plants absorb more CO2 at higher levels, etc. So what if we decrease the levels so much that we enter an ice age. Imagine a mile high sheet of ice covering much of the world. Now that would be a global killer, not warming.

Another thought, where are the most diverse plant life? The equator and the rain forests. These areas are already warmer than the AGW fanatics are suggesting. So, would we plants not benefit from increased levels of Co2 and warmer climates. That is what this experiment says.

  7. No, it's not the best idea, since we can't change it one way or the other anyway. It's far better to look at ways to adapt to any change that might or might not occur.

I feel we'd be more devastated, right now, by our climate cooling off drasticly, then we would by it warming up a degree or two. I say that since we aren't prepared to feed over 6,000,000,000 people if our growing seasons are cut short.

  8. The media is virtually run by liberals. I think that the it is being used as a "panic tactic" to give them more power. You mention global warming in any issue and everyone gets bent out of shape and easy to manipulate.

Evidence shows that Mars is also warming, are we responsible for that too?

  9. Take a look at Naked Science: "Glacier Meltdown".  I did and it's very bad.  Glaciers are melting faster than sentiences thought. If this happens the sea will rise by 20 feet.
