Is charisma something to be learned?

Question

Is the ability to lead, charm, persuade, inspire, and influence people a skill that could be learned? I am referring especially to a quality in certain people who easily draw the attention and admiration.

Are these learnable? How? What books I should read? I want to become a successful manager of investing related field. and I am trying to learn to become more like a leader. Thanks for your inspiration.

P.S. Does gender play a role in acquiring this skill? Do you think female will have a harder time in learning to become charismatic?

I think it's more likely for people to think of men as charismatic leaders, but that doesn't mean women can't be! I don't know if you can learn charisma, but you can learn to be an effective leader and be respectful of those around you, which will cause them to value your opinion and respect you.  I suggest reading some of Obama's books, he is a charismatic leader who got where he is by being honest, sensitive to the needs of others, a good listener, and a great public speaker.
