Chatting can be good or bad regardless of age. Its all perspective, some people benefit because they know how to foster good friends and relationships online. One cannot help avoiding people with bad intent, discretion is up to the user, the user has more freedom in this era, so its their decision. Any good thing can be used for a bad purpose and vice-versa :)

i think its fine as long as the children KNOW that giving out personal details could potentially kill them.

but i don't think its fair if it was to be totally banned for people under 18 just because of a few careless children

Studies or Career oriented chating is always good!!!I am very much amazed to see most of them doing so:)Everything can be done in two ways(either good or bad).Wise persons always try to bring out the best from the worst!!!lol:)
