  1. no.

Um, if this is real, go to wikipedia.  Checkers is often called "draughts."

  2. They're different. Chess is much more complex.

  3. no r u insane?

  4. No, but there are similarities. They are both board games. The strongest opening move is always toward the center of the board. Both games have a "king"

  5. While they are not the same game one should caution in saying that one is more difficult then the other. Chess is similar to two platoons facing battle where as, checkers is similar to 2 squads facing one another in battle. They both require complex stratgey involving mock battle. Just for fun an older name of checkers is draught

  6. Yes. They just are called different things to confuse people.

I don't know why they try to confuse people though. Maybe you could spend countless hours looking through Wikipedia to find the answer to this mysterious question.

  7. WOW checkers if stupider and there are so many different ways to play checkers that it is anoying

  8. in checkers, all you do is jump diagonally... pretty much the easiest board game ever....

chess, on the other hand, has lots of rules and every piece moves differently. so to answer with a word,

    no.

  9. no they are not the same

  10. no.Chess is harder.

  11. Absolutely not.  They only use the same boards.  They also both use the term 'king', but in checkers the king is the most powerful piece whereas in chess the king is to be protected (the queen is the most powerful).  Checkers is much simpler as all the pieces have only one method of attack.  Chess involves many different pieces, each with their own limitations as to how many spaces they can move, in which directions, how far they can go and how they can attack.
