When officials have to come out of the stands to talk to the judges instead of talking on the phone as normal, then YES they are cheating! I don't know how, but they found a way to make the judges give higher undeserving scores to their own athletes, and lower scores to the USA. Add to that the 10 year olds they have competing who probably still haven't hit puberty, I'd say this is a cheat job politicians dream of. Also who knows what kind of government sponsored steroids and supplements they have been given. This is why they should never host another olympiad ever.

Go ask ICF 'cause they accepted the 3 Chinese girls surrounding the controversy as 16 years old. Are you going to fight them to the death to reveal that the 3 aren't 16 ?

the rest are from brazil/japan/usa/russia/argentina/uk etc etc

Jannelle, i have one question for you. Have people questioned China's winning gold in any other event? No. It is just gymnastics that they are being called cheaters. if america were sore loser like you say we are then we would say they are cheating in every event. The ******* reporters, who were biased towards the Chinese during the team events finally started realizing something was wrong when the  Chinese girl who eventually took bronze was getting too high of a score on her events. I heard at least a dozen times that she was getting too high of scores for what she was doing.

China is one of the biggest cheaters at this Olympic Games.  They have girls the age of 16 there, still with their baby teeth.  China has fabricated many things in the past, first of all, look at all the doctored images China has done and second, all those counterfeit products they sell on street are illegal to begin with.  Still China falsified passports and lied about the girls’ age and since the IOC is so scared of China hosting the Olympics they are afraid of confronting the Chinese. This fraud has to end.  The Chinese are just one big cheating nation.

Yes, they can't face the fact that others like USA, Russia and other European countries are stronger than them.  Although some of them might take drugs etc. but they are disqualifed at the end of the day, but what about China? They cheated so they should be disqualifed as well to be fair I must say, to be fair.  I really respect Olympic games, and Olympic games means a lot for me, whenever I take my breakfast, lunch or dinner I make sure I switch my TV channel and watch all the games.  It's not like you're watching movies, but this is the REAL thing in sports, when you love sports it feels different when you're watching and participating it.  I don't know how to explain but I really feel disappointed when China cheat as well.

Unequivocally the answer is certainly.  If for nothing else, counterfeiting passports to make ineligible girls eligible.  There was a comment made about how it should not matter how old the girls are, if they came back in a couple years they would be just as good. I certainly disagree.  I long coached cross country ski racing as well as several other unisex sports, and I consistently have seen how young girls who began skiing at a very young age hit an incredible peak at around age 14 to 15. In their youth they can be shaped and molded to the athlete, to the model you need them to be, before hormones take over. Once a girl becomes a young woman and hormones come into play there is no telling weather that girl is going to continue to improve or significantly degrade. In my experience they usually get worse for about two to three years until they fully mature, coming to another peek between 18-22.  Now as far as gymnastics is concerned it is very dependent on flexibility and balance which can be drastically effected by puberty.  Remember that in China athletes are selected at a very young age based on the structure, genes, abilities, of the parents, if you disagree with this then read Yao Mings story, and how he was groomed from berth to be a basketball player.  The infant is immediately engulfed in sport specifity and trained to the edge of unhealthy, it is horrible on the body but reaches incredible insustainable results, again read about Yao Mings health issues and how Chinese over training has lead to the problems.  So you groom a young girl from birth on gymnastics and take her right to the point before puberty, which should be a peek, and then have her compete, before nature takes over and you may lose everything that is invested.  If this at age 11 so be it, or 14 so be it.  Its definately cheating, and if the rest of the world put the strain on athletes like a communist country did they would probably argue for younger ages to...or steroid use like the Soviet Union, and East Germany did.  Bottomline, I really dont agree what any of these parents, from any of these countries do to these children, and yes even a 16yr old is a child, at such a young age. Force their youth from them, force an incredible amount of pain, pressure, stress on a child, for what a stupid gold medal?  I get that in some cases maybe the child wanted to be a gymnist and just had very supportive parents, like Shawn Johnson...but in other cases the parents have decided they were going to be a world class gymnist before they were even born.....what great parents, when your child has arthritis at age 25 they will know who to blame.

In some events, such as the vault.. it's actually a disadvantage for the Chinese girls because it's a huge equipment for them to get over.  The vault itself is like up to their head.  Compare to the bigger Americans.. which is easier for them to maneuver on it.

No one in the world can say that there is cheating, drugs, judges which are bribed until they are proven guilty.  There is no point to point fingers to who is cheating or not.. I think all countries do it to some degree.  Especially the ones that has better resources and better financial support.  Not necessary they are taking drugs, but more advanced "supplement" for sure.

Why do ppl even bother to watch Olympics if it makes them so angry thinking another country is cheating?  Just turn off the TV.

Well my guess yes,

Last night Jiang Yuyuan had  5 mistakes in the balance beam and she got 15.something and the commentators were saying "no, that's way to high"

same with Lin Lin.. the commentators were saying "if they don't change it, then there's really something going on..."

then the head judge walked up to the judges and told them to lower the score because it just wasn't right.

when Liukin and Johnson performed really great, they just give them average scores.

Plus, China's gymnasts are underaged.

When the Chinese gymnast FALLS DOWN and USA's Alicia Sacramone did not and the Chinese girl won...yes that's cheating.  When Nastia Luiken TIES with the Chinese gymnast with the SAME EXACT SCORE yet judges award the Chinese the GOLD and Luiken the SILVER um yeah, I'd say that's cheating.

Basically it boils down to this, there is corruption all over the world at all times, what makes you think Olympics are any different?  Chinese officials will do ANYTHING to win at these games they are hosting.  ANYTHING.  Including paying off judges.  Notice how they are dominating in sports that have to be JUDGED by not in sports that have a clear winner/loser????
