  1. NO. There's a reason it's labeled Chinchilla dusting powder, and not Gerbil dusting powder. The Chinchilla powder is made especially for their fur and oils, and should only be used for that. There are plenty of sand products and cooling stones out there that are made specifically for gerbils. Visit your local pet store or vet to find out what exactly is available to you. Good luck!

  2. Whatever you do DON'T USE THE DUST! sand is perfect but if you use dust the gerbils will breath the dust in and it will KILL THEM never use it only use chinchilla sand as this helps to clean them and they enjoy it.

  3. Chinchilla sand is perfect for your gerbil!

It's the best for gerbils to wash in.

I don't know how the person above me get's that idea but it's clear she knows nothing about it.

I have 2 gerbils and give them chinchilla sand all the time.

By the way there is no such thing as gerbil sand.

I dont know what dusting powder is but they don't need that to wash, only the sand

  4. "Dusting powder" sounds like the same thing, to me. They're just calling it something a bit different. If the consistency is very fine, I would not risk it. If you really want to use something, buy the sand and toss the dusting powder.
